Last week DICE announced a free trial weekend of the Bespin DLC for Star Wars Battlefront. The developers have now confirmed the dates of the trial weekend during which players will be able to experience the Bespin DLC without any additional cost.
Launched in June, the Bespin DLC will be available for free across all three platforms from 19th to 21st August. This will hopefully bring back players back to what is otherwise pretty much a dead game (slightly above 18,000 players across all three platforms compared to Battlefield 4’s almost 50,000)
The DLC for Star Wars Battlefront brought with it new hero and villain character in the form of Lando Calrissian and Dengar as well as new maps set in the cloud city of Bespin, which was first seen in The Empire Strikes Back movie. Other new additions include weapons, Star Cards, cloud car vehicle and some other small stuff.
Another open trial of Bespin is also scheduled to take place from September 12th to 18th according to the game’s live events calendar although there has been no official confirmation from DICE as of yet.
Bespin was the 2nd paid DLC for Star Wars Battlefront, individually available at a price of $15 and also included in the $50 season pass.
The game’s next paid DLC, Death Star is set to release in September while the final DLC, Rogue One: Scarif will launch during Holiday 2016.
The Rogue One titled DLC will take place on Scarif, the planet shown in the behind the scenes videos of the upcoming spin-off Rogue One film and will bridge the gap between the game and the movie.
In the form of free content upgrades, Star Wars Battlefront will be receiving a new Hutt Contract today. There are no details about the contact yet. The recently announced Skirmish mode which will allow players to enjoy the game offline will be available tomorrow, July 20th.
