Say what you will about Nintendo but you can’t deny they do have a very loyal fan following. This is evident by YouTube’s list of Top Trending Games of June 2016 as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild takes up the #7 spot on the list.
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was originally announced for Wii U in 2013 but after multiple delays, it is now expected to release in 2017. The game will be released on Wii U as well as the upcoming Nintendo NX console.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild in Top Trending YouTube Games
The game’s appearance on the list is not really a surprise though considering that it was the only game Nintendo had on the show floor during E3. The game is also the first Legend of Zelda game to adopt the open world game design as well as high definition resolution.
Naturally since the game has been in development for so long with a considerably sized team, the game has some big shoes to fill in terms of sales. According to Nstyle’s twitter, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild needs to sell more than 2 million copies in order to turn up a profit.
Judging by this trend list however, it doesn’t seem like an impossible target to achieve if there is a steady flow of information from Nintendo to keep the hype train fueled up.
In the spirit of other recent RPGs, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will also feature elements such as the ability to dress Link up in a variety of costumes. Link, the silent protagonist of the series, will have to dress up according to the conditions of the environment in some cases.
Series creator Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed that Link will always be the hero in all of the main Legend of Zelda games. However, he did leave a possibility of a spin-off with a female Link as a hero so for those who want a female protagonist, there is still hope.
