Pokemon Go eggs allow you to get wild Pokemon and level up quickly, but you must hatch them in order to get a Pokemon. There are high chances that you found a Pokemon Go egg in your inventory, but do not know what to do with it.
If you have not found them yet, you will get them in good time. In case you do not know, Pokemon Go eggs are awarded randomly every time you visit a pokestop.
Aside from eggs, you will also get your hands on pokeballs, potions, revives, and other important items. You simply need to visit pokestops again and again in order to increase your chances of getting eggs.
Pokemon Go Pokemon Eggs Guide
There are basically two types of eggs in Pokemon Go – one is called the Pokemon Eggs and the other one is called Lucky Eggs. Pokemon Eggs are the ones that provide trainers with a chance to increase their Pokedox while the Lucky Eggs are meant to gain a short XP boost and is highly useful when it comes to leveling up fast.
Our Pokemon Go Eggs Guide details everything you need to know about Pokemon Go eggs, how to hatch them, differences between Pokemon Eggs and Lucky Eggs, and how to get wild Pokemon out of them.
Pokemon Go Hatching Eggs
Once you have acquired an egg, you will need to hatch it by placing it inside an incubator. Each player starts the game with one incubator in inventory, but more can be bought as the game progresses.
In order to place an egg in incubator, you simply need to select it and place it inside any available incubator. This is not all!
Once you have done placing an egg in an incubator, you will need to walk a certain distance in order to hatch an egg. One important thing that you need to note here is that the egg will not hatch if you are walking without it inside an incubator.
The distance that you need to walk in order to hatch a Pokemon Go egg varies from egg to egg. As a general rule of thumb, you need to walk somewhere between 2km-10km in order to hatch an egg. The rarer a Pokemon, the more you will need to walk.
Another important thing that you need to keep in mind is that travelling in a car will not make the eggs hatch faster. The game requires you to walk and not use any other means of transportation.
In order to hatch an egg, you need to check your Pokemon list and select the tab named Eggs. In this menu, you will be provided with a complete list of eggs at your disposal. Now you simply need to select an egg and place it inside an incubator and begin the process.
Pokemon Go Hatching Multiple Eggs Simultaneously
As I have mentioned earlier, you can buy additional incubators from shop by spending Pokecoins. If you are not willing to spend coins, you can also get them for leveling up.
Having more than one incubator is helpful in the sense that it allows you to walk less and hatch more eggs at the same time; instead of walking separately for each egg.
Another important thing that you need to bear in mind is that incubator that you get at the very beginning of the game has potentially unlimited uses, but the additional incubators will break after a fixed number of uses.
Hatching in Pokemon Go is probably one of the best ways to level up fast in the game. You will not only gain XP for hatching an egg and finding a new Pokemon, but also get additional XP if the hatched Pokemon is of a new species.
Moreover, it allows trainers to get their hands on Pokemon which are not available elsewhere. Once powered up and evolved, you will be able to use these rare Pokemon as Gym Leaders and keep their Combat Points as high as possible!
While there are high chances that you will get rare Pokemon by hatching eggs in the game, even if you get a duplicate Pokemon out of them, all is not lost! Pokemon Go has a useful feature which allows you to trade in duplicate Pokemon with Professor Willow and receive Candy in return.
It is a good idea to get Candy for trading in duplicate Pokemon as it allows you to evolve your Pokemon and make it more potent and a force to be reckoned with in Gym Battles. Aside from this, it is another good option to level up fast in the game.
How to Hatch Pokemon Go Eggs Fast
Since you are required to walk somewhere between 2km-10km in order to hatch an egg, the process can be a little tiresome and time-consuming. Luckily, there is a handy method that you can use in order to speed things up.
Although I have mentioned earlier that you cannot use a vehicle in order to hatch eggs faster, you can do so if you are travelling slow in densely packed areas or are travelling under the speed of say 30mph. As long as you maintain this speed and have the app open, you should be able to hatch multiple eggs within no time!
Difference Between Lucky Eggs and Pokemon Eggs
At the start of the game, you may confuse Pokemon Eggs with Lucky Eggs, but there are drastic differences between the two – both are useful in their own right!
Lucky Eggs in the game are consumable items that allow trainers to gain double XP for a period of 30 minutes. However, you should only go with it if you know there are a lot of Pokemon in an area or before entering a gym.
This item is particularly useful when combined with other items which drastically increase the spawn rate of Pokemon in an area. Unlike Pokemon Eggs, Lucky Eggs can be bought from in-game shop.
Pokemon Eggs, on the other hand, are the ones that provide you with wild Pokemon and are the one that you need to gather. As mentioned earlier, unlike Lucky Eggs, Pokemon Eggs are dropped randomly by visiting Pokestops.
