Yakuza 5 is Free to Play on PlayStation Store Right Now

The European PlayStation Store is offering Yakuza 5 for free for PlayStation Plus members. You can play the game across PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.

For the time being it isn’t clear if this is a mistake on the store listing as Sony is yet to make an official announcement. The game isn’t part of July PS Plus titles to this comes as a bonus for the community.

Please note: This game can only be played on a PS3 system.

If you’re accessing this game on a PS4, here’s how to download it to your PS3:

1. Click the [Download] box, situated to the left of this product description.

2. Switch on your PS3 system and sign-in to PSN with your PS Plus enabled account.

3. Go to [Download List] on the PS3 systems’s XMB™ (XrossMediaBar), where you’ll find the game ready for download.

4. Click [Download].

5. Once the game has downloaded, you’ll be ready to install and play. Remember, it’s yours to keep until your PlayStation Plus membership ends.

  • Echochrome (PS3)
  • Siren: Blood Curse (Episodes 1-12) (PS3)

Yakuza 5 released last year and it is a the fifth installment in the long running series. Yakuza is exclusive to PlayStation consoles.

On a related note, Sony Interactive Entertainment is also working on Yakuza 6. The game is coming exclusively to PlayStation 4 sometime in 2016.
