The Battlefield Hardline Betrayal DLC is now available to get for free. Players of Battlefield Hardline will be able to play the game on PC, current-gen, and last-gen consoles. The offer is only available until July 12, so you’ve got another week before the offer ends.
The Battlefield Hardline Betrayal DLC was released on March 8, and included new weapons (including swords), new maps (Alcatraz, a cemetery, New York’s Chinatown, and the Sierra Madre mountains), and the new Gun Bench, which allows you to upgrade up to five of your weapons with all sorts of cool toys.
The Battlefield Hardline Betrayal DLC was also the final DLC in Battlefield Hardline, and with a more action-movie vibe with its new locations, DICE may have very well have been trying to up the scale of its various maps in preparation for Battlefield 1.
Battlefield 1, as a game taking place in World War 1, will see a return to the wide, expansive maps of other Battlefield games, and with at least ten getting ready to come to us when the game comes out there likely won’t be any real lack. We’ve already seen one map in the game’s alpha, called Saint Quentin’s Scar.
Ordinarily, the game’s DLC would cost you around 16 dollars, but as part of the various summer sales going on DICE is apparently allowing it to be free for a week before it goes back. It’s likely that they’re doing this as a last hurrah before the release of Battlefield 1 in October, alongside Titanfall 2.
While World War 1 will definitely be quite a turn from cops-and-robbers action crime dramas, at least we won’t have to worry about an absence of melee weapons, considering that’s one of Battlefield 1’s selling points. Players in that game will be able to use shovels, maces, and bayonets in close-up combat.
The Battlefield Hardline Betrayal DLC will go back to its regular pricing on July 12, while Battlefield 1 comes out on October 21.
