It has been confirmed that Nintendo NX will not be present during this year’s Tokyo Game Show.
Nintendo during E3 2016 was all about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and many were hoping to see the upcoming console, codenamed Nintendo NX, during TGS 2016. However, it looks like we are in for a disappointment.
Recently, an official list of attendees alongside a press release appeared online which confirms that Nintendo will not participate in the upcoming gaming show. This obviously does not come as a surprise since the company usually does not attend the show.
On the other hand, you will be able to see a number of big names including Capcom, Alienware, Square Enix, Sony Computer Entertainment, Take-Two Interactive, Twitch, Bandai Namco Entertainment, and more in Makhuhari Messe, Chiba City where the event will take place between Sept. 15, 2016 and Sept. 18, 2016.
Despite being a no-show, Nintendo is looking forward to release Nintendo NX in March 2017 with Just Dance and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild being some of the early titles. Given that Nintendo will not attend TGS 2016, it is highly likely that we will see the reveal during Nintendo’s one of direct livestream events.
In relevant Nintendo NX news, the company is giving away a free unit of the upcoming console, $10,000 USD in cash prize, and a chance to meet with Shigeru Miyamoto through a t-shirt design competition. In addition to the grand prize, there are prizes for runner-ups as well. Nintendo has also confirmed that participants will be able to use Super Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, and other Nintendo characters for designing purposes.
