The puzzling Resident Evil 7 PS4 demo caused quite a stir in the gaming community, a a QR code inside the game seems to be connected to the real life pharmaceutical company called, Assaypro. This suggests that both Capcom and Assaypro are somehow connected to each other.
The first clue to this theory emerged when a Redditor caught the attention of Resident Evil fans through a anomaly in the vertical slice of Resident Evil 7 PS4 demo. The Redditor suggested that there is a QR code hidden in the Resident Evil 7 PS4 demo.
Now if you navigate to the location of the QR code in the Resident Evil 7 demo, finding it would allegedly take players to the official site of real world Pharmaceutical company called Assaypro.
What is more interesting is that, Assaypro has the logo similar to Umbrella Corporation in Resident Evil games. Also Assaypro has been active for almost 20 years, which is the same age as the Resident Evil franchise.
Assaypro is also a supplier of immunological kits, which I believe is a brilliant way of marketing Resident Evil 7.
However, a representative from Assaypro reached out to the Redditor by the name of FineBonsai, who straight up denied any relation between Capcom and Assaypro.
We are aware of the rumored link to our site via a QR code. If such a link does exist, we were not informed of this by Capcom, nor are we affiliated with Capcom.
Since Capcom revealed the Resident Evil 7 demo during Sony’s E3 press conference, many fans were worried that the series is moving away from zombies to a supernatural ghost story.
However, Capcom has clarified that Resident Evil 7 isn’t a supernatural ghost story.
