Not content with having what might be a very good story mode and glorious graphics, FIFA 17 is now adding new football clubs to the game before its release.
Right now, this includes the Juventus football club, a sports club based in Turin. With this addition, players will now be able to visit the Juventus Stadium, and can have players from the club on their team.
These new FIFA 17 players include Gianluigi Buffon, Giorgio Chiellini, and Claudio Marchisio. The additions will also be including the famous “dab” victory gesture, popularized by Paul Pogba and Paulo Dybala. Players from Juventus normally perform the dance after scoring a goal, and it’s spread to other sports teams as well.
All of the Juventus players have had their likenesses added to the game through the Frostbite engine. The addition of the Frostbite engine is a first for the FIFA series, as FIFA 17 is the very first FIFA game to use the engine, which has been used in various other EA games including Star Wars Battlefront, Dragon Age: Inquisition, and the Battlefield games by DICE.
Frostbite is a relatively old engine, having been used by DICE since Battlefield: Bad Company came out back in 2008. However, EA has said that Frostbite is still viable, and has been continuously updated in order to remain relevant with EA’s various games. Frostbite, according to EA, allows them to make various changes to improve their games as they go.
FIFA 17 is showing a lot of promise, even after its somewhat melodramatic presentation at E3. Its story mode “The Journey”, promises a dialogue wheel, dramatic cutscenes, and even well-modeled models of Premiere League football club managers and their teams.
FIFA 17 releases on the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC on September 29, so if you’re excited about it coming out, you won’t have too much longer to wait.
