Xbox One S pre orders are off to an amazing start according to Microsoft. The console was announced at E3 2016 and is a slimmer model of the base Xbox One fat version. It comes in various versions differentiated by their storage capacity.
The minimum we get is Xbox One S 500GB model while the top tier version holds a 2TB HDD. Pre orders for the 2TB version are the strongest according to the company. Moreover, retailers seem more excited about the new model as they will definitely be able to push more Xbox units out the door.
According to Bob Puzon, senior vice president of Merchandising for GameStop:
With all the new innovation we’ve seen and experienced with Microsoft’s new Xbox One S console, we anticipate this creating excitement among our customers. The new sleek design and the ability to watch Blu-Ray movies and stream video in 4K Ultra HD with HDR is sure to make the new Xbox One console one of our most sought after products when it launches later this year
The base Xbox One S model costs $299 and comes with a 40 percent smaller body. The power brick is built-in with other hardware improvements. We are going to see HDR gaming feature but we’ll need a Tv that supports it. Keep in mind that Xbox One S won’t offer better frame rates compared to the base fat model
However, if you wish for better performance than we sure to pick up Project Scorpio that offers 4K gaming. Microsoft is brining 4K compatible console in Fall 2017.
