A new Blizzard DDoS attack was reported a few hours ago which affected network providers and as a result, players were having issues logging into Overwatch. The competitive play update just released on PC and it was surely a disappointment to not be able to enjoy it because of a DDoS.
The good news, however, is that the problem is sorted out and players should feel free to log in and play Overwatch competitive play mode.
[#BNet] The login issues have been resolved. Thanks for your patience and sorry for any inconvenience!

Overwatch competitive play update released on PC earlier but it was delayed on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
We know this isn’t an ideal way to deliver new content, so we’re going to continue to refine our patching processes over the next few months in an effort to sync up our release dates across platforms as closely possible. Although our Battle.net client will always allow us to be more agile on PC, we hope to reach a point where we can release major updates on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 simultaneously.
Overwatch competitive Play update will now release sometime next week. The update is in approval stage for both consoles but devs don’t have a final release for the time being.
We’ll let you know as soon as Blizzard releases Overwatch competitive update.
