Bungie has released a Destiny hot fix to allow Destiny players to begin playing Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner again, after a series of glitches necessitated the postponing of the two events. Iron Banner is a monthly event, while Trials of Osiris takes place every weekend.
Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner had previously been postponed for another hotfix several weeks ago, which was made in order to get rid of a glitch that allowed heavy weapons (particularly rocket launchers) to hold way too many rockets.
The Destiny hot fix, however, will allow players to take part in the Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris. Bungie’s patch notes on the thing say that the two adjustments used in the hotfix are to fix an issue that would come when inspecting activities of that are being played by a large number of friends, and and another that could prevent matchmaking into an activity that was being played by a large number of friends.
Now that the Destiny hot fix is out hopefully the Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris events can go through. The current Iron Banner event is even more notable because Destiny is going to be getting its newest expansion Rise of Iron in September, which will explore more into the Lord of Iron, the ones that started the Iron Banner.
Rise of Iron promises a ton of new gear that will likely change up the balance of Iron Banner, so it’s likely that the new gear (until it’s balanced at least) will be a must-have for participating in any event for a while afterward.
One thing of particular note in the Iron Banner is that the Gjallarhorn is not only getting a year 2 version, but a version that comes with a pre-order of Rise of Iron. Considering that the Year 2 Gjallarhorn is apparently getting a balance adjustment so that it’s not a game breaker of a heavy weapon anymore, but that doesn’t mean that we won’t still see it in the Crucible when Rise of Iron comes out.
