During E3 2016 media briefing, Ubisoft stated that with the upcoming Ghost Recon Wildlands, the developer is making the largest open-world it has ever created!
Similar to what Nintendo is doing with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the entire open world in the game is accessible right of the bat. The game will not restrict you to one area and you will be able to explore it to its entirety right from the very onset of the game.
While the game can be played in co-op mode with 4 players in a solo mode. However, it truly shines when it comes to 4-player co-op mode. Given the sheer scale of the game, missions can be approached in a variety of ways – you can either go in guns blazing or go with a stealthier approach.
However, whatever you do, teamplay is the key to success in Ghost Recon Wildlands. The game hosts a number of weapons and gadgets that aid your character throughout a mission. But it is equally punishing if you mess something up. This essentially creates a sense of challenge and wants you to come back for more and tackle a mission using different approaches.
On the visual fidelity side of the game, there are some things to be desired such as bullet-absorbing NPC as seen in Tom Clancy’s The Division and some subpar looking sections. But given the fact that there is still some time until the final release of the game, these minor issues will obviously be fixed.
Ghost Recon Wildlands is scheduled to release for Microsoft Windows, Playstation 4, and Xbox One on Mar. 07, 2017.
