Vampyr Trailer Leaked Ahead of E3 2016 Reveal

Vampyr trailer, that has been leaked ahead of its official showing, showcases the 20th century London in which the game takes place as well as the game’s combat system both against humans and supernatural creatures.

Vampyr lets players assume the role of Dr. Jonathan E. Reid who served in the war who stumbled across a bloodfusion technique that enabled him to save many lives. However, while investigating the mystery of Spanish Flu, the doctor finds himself turned into a newly transformed vampire one morning.

The game is a decision-based aRPG that lets Jonathan E. Reid choose who is to be killed and who is to be spared in order to fulfill his newly found quench after his transformation. However, as stated by Vampyr’s Game Director Philippe Moreau, each kill will have its consequences which will take the doctor away from his sanity:

We want to go back to the Gothic roots of Vampire mythology and emphasize their struggling duality: killing innocent people to survive is the price of immortality… So if you, as a player, were a vampire, how would you handle that choice? Less glitter, more grit.

Vampyr by Life is Strange developer DotNod Entertainment is scheduled to release sometime in 2017 for PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
