Street Fighter 5 Story Expansion Coming in June with Fight Money, Six DLC Characters

Since the community wanted it, Capcom has ensured that the Street Fighter 5 story expansion reaches the fans this month and officially revealed what content is going to make it worth your while when it comes out.

We know that Capcom has been boasting this to be just the beginning in a long list of things that are to come our way in hte future, but to us it seems pretty impressive in its own right.

Street Fighter 5 Story Expansion Details Shared

As confirmed by Capcom, you are going to get five chapters worth about four hours of gameplay featuring all six of the DLC characters that have been revealed in the past.

It is basically a bridging story between Street Fighter 3 and Street FIghter 4, and a one of a kind experience for the franchise:

The SFV Story Expansion is a 3~4 hour experience titled “A Shadow Falls” and will be released at the end of this month as free DLC to all SFV players. The 5 chapter story takes place between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III and bridges the events that happen in between the two stories. This is the first time in franchise history that fans will be able to play through this type of cinematic experience in a Street Fighter game.

As far as the plot is concerned, the Street Fighter 5 story expansion has been titled A Shadow Falls where “the heroic World Warriors” are taking up arms against Shadaloo organization and its Black Moons that have given “unimaginable power” to M. Bison.

Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li now have to stop the damning Black Moons alongside other World Warriors. Not only that you will be able to play some characters among Alex, Guile, and Ibuki, Balrog, Urien, and Juri before the official release of the characters in the base game.

The Street Fighter 5 Story Expansion brings in two modes of difficulty with thousands of Fight Money attached to each. Here’s a breakdown of what you can get:

  • Normal Mode: 30,000 FM
  • Extra Mode*: 50,000 FM
  • TOTAL: 80,000 FM

*Extra Mode (higher difficulty) unlocks after you complete Normal mode

The update that is going to bring you Street Fighter 5 Story Expansion is going to come out in late June, but since we are almost halfway through the month it is only a matter of days before the release of the new content alongside some other changes that are being made to the game.
