Grand Theft Auto Online is down right now apparently, according to a Reddit post. Players that attempt to get onto Grand Theft Auto Online only get a “Rockstar game services are unavailable” message and are unable to log on. The downtime follows a June 7 update to the game, and the game is still down even after a hot fix was released for it.
What makes it even more galling is that the servers are still up for the game, so it isn’t something on Rockstar’s end. The reason that Grand Theft Auto Online is down is most likely something to do with the coding in the update unless something is actually wrong with the servers and people just can’t see it right now.
Whatever it is, Grand Theft Auto Online is down, which considering how many people play the game (even years after Grand Theft Auto 5 was released) might start bringing a hailstorm of screaming down on Rockstar’s heads as gamers start to demand why they can’t play.
The timing for this also couldn’t be worse because the “Further Adventures in Finance and Felony” update came out and it’s likely the game had gotten even more people onto the servers than usual especially with the trailer that was released just a few days ago for the update.
Hopefully Rockstar will start to try and fix the game so that people don’t have to wait too long to see what all they can do in the new Finance and Felony updates.
