In the picture the face of Kojima Productions mascot has been partially revealed, but will it be the face of the character that will appear in their new game in unknown.
The studio did not provided any specific details about the image, but commented that “You can freely imagine whatever you see”.
The first full body image of Luden was revealed in mid-May, and the producer Ken-ichiro Imaizumi said that “This is not an image of the game which we are working on”.
Hideo Kojima has teased that his new game will appeal to the fans of The Division and Uncharted 4. However, no further details are known about the game besides that it is a PlayStation 4 and PC exclusive.
While the image in not taken from the game, but it does begs the question that will Luden play a role in Hideo Kojima’s upcoming game. Kojima recently stated that:
When it is announced, you might think, ‘That’s not outstanding,’ but you’ll understand when you see it and play it. The genre is action.
Kojima also revealed that he will not employ very large number of developers, instead the studio will have less than 100 developers.
The reason behind this might be due to the fact that at the time of the development of Phantom Pain, the staff was over 200 people, and Kojima talks scarcely about it.
Recently Kojima revealed that the studio will use a third party game engine for its upcoming game. For this purpose Kojima visited Quantic Dream who are working on their new game engine. He also visited Crytek, the creators of CryEngine, and other studios as well.
