We have known of the Star Wars Battlefront 3 Remake, Galaxy in Turmoil, already. However, since the project was not being made by the official IP holders, it was an altogether different story whether it would get a green signal for a release or not.
However, it has, and now Galaxy in Turmoil is officially going to be released on PC via Steam!
This was something that the developers at Frontwire Studios had not been able to pull of until now because of some “restrictions with [their] use of the Star Wars IP” and a similar reason on Steam Greenlight as well.
However, they have now been able to strike a distribution deal for the Star Wars Battlefront 3 Remake Galaxy in Turmoil with Valve Corporation. Tony “Fergie” Romanelli, the President of Frontwire Studios made the announcement on their official blog recently:
It is with great pleasure that as of today I am able to officially announce that Frontwire Studios has officially signed a distribution deal with Steam/Valve for the game Galaxy in Turmoil. After ongoing discussion between Valve Representatives and myself, Valve/Steam has agreed to ship Galaxy in Turmoil to it’s millions of users for FREE.
The very next question that should come to the minds of anyone reading this would be what of Disney? They are the IP owners of course, will they agree? Well apparently, even Romanelli has “had mild concerns myself from time to time,” but Valve Corporation doesn’t share that concern.
In fact, he says “Valve clearly lacks that same concern. By agreeing to publish Galaxy in Turmoil, Valve is assisting us in growing and ensuring the longevity of the Galaxy in Turmoil project and community as a whole.”
We think that the Star Wars Battlefront 3 Remake Galaxy in Turmoil is going to be a title to look forward to, seeing how it is a product of love and labor from people who are fans.
