Maxis Removes Sims 4 Gender Restrictions

Maxis has decided to remove Sims 4 gender restrictions in the game’s Create-A-Sim mode, allowing players to make their sims and use whatever voice, walk cycle, and physique that they want. Previously certain factors of making Sims have had some parts of character creation restricted by whether your Sim is male or female, but not anymore.

The update about the Sims 4 gender restrictions explained their reasoning behind the change in its update text, saying that the Sims was a diverse game made for a diverse audience, and that the change was to allow people to creatively express themselves as much as they want.

The update will allow them to be able to have more influence on a Sim’s gender, age, ethnicity, and body type.

The Sims games already had a reputation for having a rather in-depth character creator, and that’s only gotten more and more evident as the games have continued to come out.

The Sims 4 gender restrictions that have been taken away with this update now allow over 700 pieces of content to be used by either gender of Sim with no restrictions.

This update comes hot on the heels of another Sims update that had a trailer announcing it this week, the Dine Out expansion pack. In Dine Out, players can now make their Sims into restaurateurs, starting their own restaurant and customizing everything in it ranging from food to decor to staff to location.

If you’re one of those many people on the internet who just buy The Sims to torment them, there’s most likely a way for you to do that with the 700 new pieces of content that are now available for you to work with on either gender of Sim.

The Sims 4 gender restrictions removal update comes out today on PC, so if you’ve been waiting for something like this, you can get started right away with making a Sim that you want to play.
