Injustice: Gods Among Us 2 Coming Out Next Year?
Back in 2013, Injustice: Gods Among Us, was released for PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. It was one of the first DC Comics games that turned out to be a fighting game, and was soon adapted into its own comic series. Now, Injustice: Gods Among Us 2 is rumored to be coming out next year on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
In the original Injustice, the story mode revolved around an alternate universe’s Superman becoming evil after the Joker kills Lois Lane and destroys Metropolis by injecting Scarecrow’s fear toxin into Superman, making him accidentally kill Lois. This served as the catalyst for Superman to become evil and take over the world, ruling it as a dictator while the rest of the Justice League fought against him.
While there’s no telling what Injustice: Gods Among Us 2 will focus on, the first game did end on something of a cliffhanger, with the evil alternate Superman apparently still having some of his superpowers. Whether he comes back as a new threat is something that no one really knows yet; it is still a rumor, after all.
At the same time, rumors about sequels for the game have been floating around the internet ever since 2014, with no confirmation from Warner Bros.
The French gaming website Gameblog was the one that brought the rumor to the internet’s attention. This was even more so when they reported that it’s possible that Injustice: Gods Among Us 2 could be announced sometime before E3, rather than at the conference.
Whatever happens with Injustice 2 depends on how Warner Bros feels about the rumors. With them about to release a remastered version of the first two games in Batman’s Arkham series, they may be willing to have another go at Injustice.
However, we’ll just have to see if they announce it, either before E3 or at the conference. They’re even releasing an Injustice port for the Galaxy S7 after releasing a version for iOS back in 2013.
Injustice 2 is rumored (very important word there) to be coming out in May of 2017.
