Sony is Publishing Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in Japan

Sony Interactive Entertainment itself is publishing Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in Japan although Activision is still publishing the Xbox One version.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has just announced that they are going to be spearheading the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on PS4 in Japan by taking on the role of publisher.

The game is being published by Activision elsewhere but we had not been told who would be publishing it in Japan previously.

That being said, Sony Computer Entertainment is, not publishing the Xbox One version of the game unlike the confusion that arose previously. We confirmed this from the official Xbox Store page of the game in Japan where Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is listed and alongside it Activision is mentioned as the publisher.

However, Sony is the new home of Call of Duty now and the Xbox One market in Japan doesn’t really matter because it is too small.

Needless to say, Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan and Asia is also going to be responsible of the game’s publishing in the Asian regions.

Our Japanese fans would be glad to know that Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan and Asia is releasing Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in Japan on the same day as game’s western release i.e. November 4.

Other than that, it has also been confirmed by the publisher that both the standard as well as the Legacy Edition with the Modern Warfare Remaster are going to be released in Japan.

If you wish to secure a copy for yourself, you can do so on the official PlayStation Store here if you own a PS4.
