Report: Steam Summer Sale Starting on June 23
Steam Summer Sale is this year’s most anticipated Steam event and it is beginning on June 23, according to a new rumor. No details are available yet but it is safe to say that some of the most popular games would be a part of the sale.
We can expect The Witcher 3, COD games, and plenty of indie titles. Needless to say that this information is not official and should be taken lightly. The source is an anonymous SteamWorks developer who apparently finds it hard to keep such information to himself.
Every year Valve hosts a Summer Sale on Steam and gives 50 to 75% discount on a plethora of gaming titles. This year will be no different. Games from Ubisoft, EA, Activision and many other publishers are to be added to Steam sale.
It is rumored that this sale will last for 2 weeks, plenty of time for players to grab what they want. Games can be purchased using Steam cards, credit cards or Bitcoins which is the latest form of payment method added to Valve’s platform.
Valve reached out to us because they were looking for a fast, international payment method for Steam users in emerging gaming markets in countries like India, China, and Brazil. While more users are coming online in these countries, traditional payment options like credit cards often aren’t available.
As the internet’s universal currency, Bitcoin will allow Steam to easily reach gamers in every market around the world – without the high fees or the risk of chargeback fraud that come with card payments.
So tell us, which games would you like to see added to this year’s Steam Summer Sale? Comment down below.
