Remember how yesterday remarks about the PlayStation Neo launch date window from the official earnings call of a known French distributor had made a lot of ripples? Well it looks like they have been called for an answering by the big boys!

Just 24 hours after they told their stakeholders that the second half of 2016 was going to be good because Sony was launching their rumored 14nm Polaris based console aka PS4K at that time, Innelec Multimedia quickly retracted that statement.

What they had previously said was (online translation) that “the fiscal forecast for 2016/2017 should be pushed by the videogame industry, during the first semester, with the arrival of the PS4 Neo 4K.”

However, this part of the earnings call documents was removed (probably after they got a call from Sony Computer Entertainment itself) and Innelec issued another statement showing disassociation with any remarks suggesting that the PlayStation Neo launch date was going fall within 2016. Here’s what they are saying now:

Innelec denies any official information about the launch of a PS4K Neo. It’s possible that during the fiscal year 2016/2017, some evolutions could happen on the current PS4, but we don’t have any information about their nature for the time being.

From where we are seeing this, the launch window of PS4 Neo is not something that Sony would want to out like that, also the fact that Innelec was asked to take back that statement suggests that their claim was of at least that much importance for Sony Computer Entertainment.

Had the French distributor really leaked the PlayStation Neo launch date? If that is the case and there has been no change in the plans, we will get their upgraded console in October 2016.
