The Pokemon company has shared some new Pokemon Sun and Moon starter Pokemon details along with a brand new trailer. According to the details, players will be able to use three starter Pokemon in the game – Grass- and Flying-type Pokémon Rowlet, Fire-type Litten, and Water-type Popplio.

Players will choose one of three Pokemon to be their starting partner.

Pokemon Sun and Moon starter Pokemon gameplay details

  • Name: Rowlet
  • Category: Grass Quill Pokémon
  • Height: 1’00”
  • Weight: 3.3 lbs.
  • Type: Grass/Flying
  • Starting Move: Leafage

Your first potential Pokemon Sun and Moon starter Pokemon could be Grass and Flying type, Rowlet. It is able to fly and silently sneak up on enemies from above. It uses powerful kicks and can attack from afar using powerful leafs that also form parts of its feathers.

Rowlet can turn his head 180 degrees from front to back to survey the environment. He turn its head to toward the trainer during battle and awaits instructions.

  • Name: Litten
  • Category: Fire Cat Pokémon
  • Height: 1’04”
  • Weight: 9.5 lbs.
  • Type: Fire
  • Starting Move: Ember

Litten is a calm and cool-headed starter Pokemon for Pokemon Sun and Moon. Although it is cool-headed, its skin is covered in oil that is highly flammable. The cat like creature licks its fur and collects it into hairball. It then ignites these hairballs and uses it against the enemy as fireball attacks. Pokemon Litten can burn its entire fur in one go.

  • Name: Popplio
  • Category: Sea Lion Pokémon
  • Height: 1’04”
  • Weight: 16.5 lbs.
  • Type: Water
  • Starting Move: Water Gun

The third starter Pokemon in Pokemon Sun and Moon is acrobatic Sea Lion Pokémon, Popplio. It can create water balloons using its nose and then utilize them in different Pokemon Sun and MOON gameplay scenarios. Use Pokemon Popplio if you plan to navigate the seas or rivers across the maps.

Popplio is better at moving in water and can swim at up 25 mph.

The Pokemon Company also shared a new gameplay trailer, like I mentioned above, which shows some Pokemon Sun and Moon legendaries, starter Pokemon, gameplay and much more.
