Halo 5 Guardians: Memories of Reach DLC Gets New Armor, Infection
Later this month, the Halo 5: Guardians DLC pack “Memories of Reach” will be releasing, bringing a lot of familiar armors to Halo players as we’re finally able to wear the MJOLNIR armor suits that were worn by Noble Team in Halo: Reach.
Halo: Reach was the last Halo game that Bungie developed before handing the series off to 343 Industries and going off to work on Destiny, which would release four years after Halo: Reach. Halo Reach, while not included in the Master Chief Collection, has since been added to the Xbox One’s Backwards Compatibility service.
Now, Halo players can earn requisitions to buy armor for their characters that is inspired by the armor of Noble Team. These sets include the Indomitable suit (Jorge’s heavy armor), the Wrath suit (for the squad’s resident blood knight, Emile), the Vigilant suit (for sniper Jun, the team’s only survivor), and the Intruder suit (for the team’s second-in-command and technician, Kat).
The armor suit for Noble Team’s leader, Spartan A259, also known as Carter, has been available in the game since it launched. But it’s not just suits of Noble Team armor that will be coming with Memories of Reach. A much-beloved game mode, “Infection,” will also be making a return.
Infection mode was an option in multiple Halo games before now, including the next-latest, Halo 4, but was not included initially in the Guardians multiplayer playlists. Now you can play as Flood Combat Forms and hunt down a small group of survivors armed with shotguns and swords.
The Memories of Reach update will also include a few balance changes to the campaign, mainly in fighting the game’s final boss, the Warden Eternal. In response to fan complaints, 343 Studios has reduced his front armor and made his attacks easier to dodge, along with making his weapons less accurate.
Memories of Reach will be coming out later this month exclusively on the Xbox One, so get ready to suit up, Noble!
