Lara Croft Tomb Raider Reboot has Found its Lead, Alicia Vikander
It looks like Daisy Ridley isn’t going to be Lara Croft after all. It has just been announced that Alicia Vikander is our new Lara Croft. Vikander is the Ex Machina and The Danish Girl star and has exceptional talent.
Vikander is playing Lara Croft in Lara Croft Tomb Raider Reboot . She is the successor of the highly talented Angelina Jolie who played Lara Croft in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider in 2001 and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life in 2003.
The franchise is returning to hollywood after 13 years and the burden is on Vikander’s shoulders to make it relevant again.
Lara Croft was made popular by video games and only recently we saw the release of Rise of the Tomb Raider. It is about time we get another movie but only time will tell of Vikander is the right choice for this part. Tomb Raider reboot is being directed by Roar Uthaug, the man behind The Wave.
The story is about a young Lara Croft on her first adventure. MGM and Warner Bros. are co-producing this movie, with MGM overseeing production.
The Danish Girl won Vikander an Oscar and now she has her own franchise that can boost her stardom to a whole new level.
