It’s only been a week since the last patch came out, but already From Software released Japanese patch notes for Dark Souls 3 patch 1.04.
These have been helpfully translated by Reddit, allowing us to see the changes that will be coming for the newest (and final) entry in the notoriously difficult series.
While there isn’t any confirmed release date for the patch, what it does detail is a number of ways to make a few game mechanics easier, such as joining covenants, fixing glitches where Xbox players were unable to access certain features such as bonfires and being able to quit the game (along with the game crashing if you failed to connect to an online server), along with adjustments to fix bugs in various character sidequests.
This included a quest for the character Seigward of Catarina and being able to join the Rosaria’s Fingers Covenant without having worry about locking yourself out of the questline for the character Sirris of the Sunless Realms, who’s a sworn enemy of the Covenant and would disappear from Firelink Shrine if you joined Rosaria’s Fingers and equipped their item. Tough luck for you.
Dark Souls 3 patch 1.04 will also be addressing a few bugs with bosses, such as fixing a bug that would cause one of the Crystal Sages to not appear if you warped in to one of their locations, or when the Old Dragonslayer Armor would instantly die when you began its boss fight.
Among other things were that kicks would no longer be able to be parried, and other small bits of fine-tuning the game.
Dark Souls 3 has already sold hundreds of thousands of copies on Steam, and likely even more when you add in copies for the Xbox One and Playstation 4, and hopefully, whenever it releases, Dark Souls 3 patch 1.04 will help make the game even better to give the Dark Souls trilogy a worthy send-off.
