Sony PS3 system update 4.80 is out now and apparently properly removes Facebook integration and stabilizes the system. There aren’t any formal patch notes available for it so we don’t exactly know what it is about.
You can download the update directly from the internet by going to system setting and selecting “System Update.” You can also use a storage device like a USB, download the update software from PC and use it to update your PS3.
Sony’s current focus is on PlayStation 4 so it is nice to see the publisher still releasing system updates on its outdated machine. But it would be nice if updates add new feature rather than removing existing ones.
