Leak Prompts Announcement of The Sims 4 DLC Pack

Fans of The Sims have reason to rejoice today after a leak from an EA Maxis employee gave out a hint that was eventually decoded into a new The Sims 4 DLC pack.

Trevor Lindsey, one of the EA Maxis employees that worked on The Sims 3, sent a tweet out to his 10,000 Twitter followers back on April 11, Monday. This tweet consisted of a number of hashtags that were discovered to each correspond to a single letter.

Many guesses were tried and failed, but eventually someone managed to crack the proper code, as it referred to becoming a restauranteur. A later tweet by The Sims 4 producer Dave Miotke appeared to support this:

Hang in there! I know you’re hungry for news & I can’t wait to serve up some fresh info soon!

April 12 led to an even bigger hint, as the official page for Sims 4 in Latin America suggested that its fans sharpen their culinary skills.

However, not all of the staff of The Sims are happy about the leak. SimGuruDrake, the global community manager for the official Sims forums, stated that official announcements would only be coming from the North America team. However, all of the hints that we’ve gotten appear to be indeed pointing towards some kind of food-related The Sims 4 DLC pack.

However, we should also keep in mind that there hasn’t been any sort of official announcement yet, or a release date for the pack. Either way, our suspicions appear to have been confirmed.

So, if you’re a fan of the series and have been one of the many people waiting for a new content pack, the next The Sims 4 DLC pack might be just the thing to whet your appetite for more, with more food options for your Sims to cook (and for you to try and poison them with, as Sims players are wont to do).
