Gears of War 4 release date has just been announced and it is coming to Xbox One on October 11. The news was expected at E3 but it looks like Microsoft had other plans.
Gears of War 4 will feature split-screen across all modes and is going into beta later this month. According to The Coalition studio, Gears of War 4 beta will run at 1080p. It will have 30FPS across all split-screen modes.
The game’s campaign will also be running at 30FPS but the multiplayer modes will push for 60FPS.
Players will get to try it out on April 18 and will end of April 24. However, the action won’t end there.
Those who bought a copy of Gears of War Ultimate Edition will have guaranteed access to Gears of War 4 beta. Meanwhile, there is also going to be an open beta starting April 25 to May 1 on Xbox One.
Gears of War 4 will release worldwide on October 11. Gears of War 4 will mark the beginning of a new saga, a new trilogy with new characters and story elements.
Harkening back to the dark and intense roots of the original classic, fans can expect a familiar, yet distinct evolution of gameplay, including brutal and intimate action, a heart-pounding campaign, genre-defining multiplayer and stunning visuals powered by Unreal Engine 4.
