Titanfall 2 is in early development, but fans can be assured that it’s going to be a bigger, more action-packed experience than its predecessor.
The reason? According to Respawn Entertainment’s HR and Recruiting Manager Kristin Christopher, the development team behind Titanfall 2 is about 30% larger than those who were responsible for the original game back in 2014.
Christopher told this to Develop in an interview, stating how the first game was made by 70 people. This time around though, they’ve added 20 additional, ramping up the total number of developers dedicated to the sequel to 90.
The first-person shooter multiplayer sequel has been announced, but there’s still very little known about the game. It is heavily believed though that this time around Titanfall 2 will feature a full-fledged singleplayer campaign, though Respawn Entertainment has yet to acknowledge or disprove this belief.
Additionally, EA CFO also revealed earlier this month that Titanfall 2 will be released this year, though the date is still very much in the air, and we are yet to be treated with any concrete footage of the game.
The game was leaked at an EA Event a couple of months ago, which suggested that it was aiming for a Fall 2016 release window. This makes it a likely candidate for the now popular November release window that saw many AAA titles come out last year.
There is also suggestion that Titanfall 2 will now be a multiplatform title. By comparison, the original Titanfall was an Xbox console exclusive, and also released for the PC. The game however did not make it to the PlayStation consoles.
You can expect plenty of additional news (and hopefully the release date) regarding Titanfall 2 during this year’s E3 conference in June. Till then, stay tuned as you bring you more Titanfall and Respawn Entertainment news.
