Thanks to a post on Reddit by the user KoXin, images of a potential Battlefield 5 have been leaked showcasing some details of the upcoming shooter as well as the plans for five separate packs of DLC to release post-launch.
This is certainly a tenuous rumor and should be taken with a huge pinch of salt. The images, which are included below, don’t look particularly genuine but it’s the closest snippet of information we have about a Battlefield sequel so we decided to share them with you.
One of the pictures reveals that June 12 will be the date for the official announcement of Battlefield 5. E3 2016 begins on June 14 this year, meaning that EA would reveal Battlefield 5 two days before the event if these images are to be believed.
The final image includes the most information about the game, but is restricted to just DLC. There are five packs in total, with the first to be released on December 6, 2016. There is no release date included for the full game, but this date for the first DLC pack infers that it will release before December.
As mentioned, these images are not confirmed at all, with the source of the pictures very unclear at this point. Whether it is someone with a lot of time on their hands that likes to mess with people’s expectations or a genuine leak from someone at EA or DICE remains to be seen, but it does seem like a lot of trouble to go through for a joke.
A few rumors about the game have already been discussed, such as a hope of next-level visual quality and an October release with a World War 1 setting. Should any of these rumors be confirmed in the months to come then we will report them, but until then we can only speculate.
