Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 6 releases this June for Nintendo 3DS in Japan, with a Western release to follow at an unspecified date. Capcom have eased the pain of having to wait so long for the sequel though by creating a video prologue for the game.
Illustrated using an anime style, we are presented with some of the game’s unique characters, varied environments and interesting history leading up to the game’s premise itself. The prologue features its own unique story but in reality sets the tone for what will happen in the main game once it is released on June 9.
The game will include a unique Phoenix Wright theme for the 3DS as well as a new ‘water mirror system’ that will add a new dimension in which to solve the cases.
The game is sure to cross over to the West like all the flagship Ace Attorney games in the past, including Ace Attorney 5 as a downloadable version three years ago.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is a visual novel adventure game following the events of the defense attorney Phoenix Wright. Developed by Capcom, the first instalment was released in 2001 and due to various spin-offs in the series, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 6 is actually the tenth game in the popular handheld series. It recently crossed over with another massively popular Japanese puzzle series for the Nintendo 3DS in Professor Layton.
The video is unfortunately in Japanese, without subtitles, but you can get a good idea of what is going on of course. As the date for the Western release is announced and closed-in on I’m sure a dubbed or subtitled version of this Phoenix Wright prologue will make an appearance.
