Last reports on Star Fox Zero were so bad that we thought it might not even pass the quality assurance tests, but apparently, SHigeru Miyamoto had nothing to say about that recently. Instead, he announced Star Fox Zero Invincible Mode as well as some special challenges for the experienced players.
The game producer was responding to criticism that Nintendo has faced for “transparent, protracted tutorials” for games when he started to explain how they found the need to hold a hand of the gamers who are new to certain games.
Even in the case of the new Star Fox game, he revealed the Star Fox Zero invincible mode which is going to be there just so that new players can get acquainted with the world and how things roll in there.
The problem here is, no one really likes the reasoning because making it that easy for someone to play takes away all the challenge and effectively goes against what Miyamoto himself said in another question during the same interview i.e. “part of the fun of taking on a challenge is that the challenge has to be a hurdle that you overcome.”
Anyhow, that is not all Shigeru Miyamoto has for you. There are going to be special challenges for the ones who are well trained in the Star Fox world. There will be ships that take more damage and deal more damage as well.
There’ll be a way for them to get an invincible Arwing, so that they can fly through and see the levels. But at the same time, we’re also preparing modes for Star Fox fans looking for an even harder challenge, such as a ship that does more damage, but which also takes more damage.
Star Fox Zero Invincible Mode and the rest of these extra challenges are going to make your way alongside the game when it releases to Nintendo Wii U on April 22.
