What’s Happening with Zelda Wii U?

One of Nintendo’s most popular franchises is still to make an inaugural appearance on the latest console which has left a lot of people wondering, ‘What’s happening with Zelda Wii U?’.

Famitsu decided to take it upon themselves to ask series producer Eiji Aonuma this very question in order to appease fans of the fantasy series. At first his answer was brief, “Busy”, but fortunately he elaborated.

We already have two remasters of previous Zelda games available for Wii U. Firstly we were granted with Wind Waker HD in 2013, before this month saw the arrival of Twilight Princess HD.

We have various guides available to help you through the latter including a Heart Pieces location guide and a Howling Stones location guide.

Regarding a brand new title though, Aonuma did continue to shed some more light on what we can expect from the latest iteration. He explains, “When we did Skyward Sword for the Wii, at the end stages of development, I was in charge of the characters’ dialogue and the in-game text. And, now as well, it’s like it was then. I had to work on text today, too”

“But, the game has really taken shape, and things have gotten easier. That means things are progressing well.” Aonuma understands the importance of Ocarina of Time in the series’ development.

Widely considered as one of the greatest games ever made, this is an understandable train of thought, “I think the base of our secret sauce has always been Ocarina of Time. But this time, the change in flavor will be like going from Japanese food to Western style food. Perhaps, players will be surprised.”

“Please look forward to it, because I think we’ll be able to make ‘something new’ like Ocarina of Time was,” Aonuma teased. This leads us to believe that the new Zelda game may take a different direction to what we expect, which could clearly be a good or a bad thing.

We’ll stay positive and hopefully hear some more news or announcements about the eagerly-anticipated game soon enough.
