Age of Empires is Microsoft Studios’ popular RTS (Real-Time Strategy) game. It has been awhile since we saw a fresh installment and it is about time we get the next Age of Empires/Age of Empires 4.
Microsoft Studios is currently preoccupied with its own issues, the cancellation of Fable Legends, proposed closure of Lionhead Studios, so it isn’t the right to ask it for another game. However, for Bill Gates, it is just a matter of how many empires do we need?
During an AMA session on reddit, a fan asked Bill Gates for a new Age of Empires game. Bill, being his usual self, replied by saying: “I will look into this. How many empires do you need?”
Well Mr.Gates, just one will do for now.
Age of Empires 3 released back in 2005, so it has been over a decade without any news on Age of Empires 4. When Microsoft cancelled Fable Legends, it said that it wants to invest in games people want to play. This implied that Fable Legends wasn’t something a huge audience was interested in, however, Age of Empires is surely something worth investing in.
With Xbox One mouse and keyboard support in the pipeline, Age of Empires 4 is the perfect title to release as one of the first major RTS games on Xbox One. Of course, it all started on PC so there must be a PC version of Age of Empires 4.
Bill Gates was just joking around about the next Age of Empires, but its mention once again raised the question: where is Age of Empires 4? For now, if you’re a PC user you can go ahead and jump back into Age of Empires 3, while Android fans can try out Age of Empires World Domination.
Do you want Age of Empires 4? Should Microsoft Studios work on a Xbox One/ Windows 10 version of it?
