After Star Wars Battleground, EA are looking to the Star Wars Games future. It appears now they have the license they plan on using it to its full potential.
At a recent event at the Morgan Stanley Technology Conference in San Francisco EA CFO Blake Jorgensen praised the success of Star Wars Battlefront as well as Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes and Star Wars: The Old Republic. On the Star Wars games future, he revealed:
“As everyone knows, with Star Wars, there is an unlimited amount of things you can do with the content. And as Disney starts to add more and more new content, that gives fuel to our ability to add more games around it.”
He also revealed that there are two unannounced games in the pipeline:
“We’ve got a couple of things up our sleeve that we haven’t talked about yet but you’ll probably see them teased over the next six months”
Could this mean we’ll see something around E3? Even a small tease would build up some hype around these future games and set up the rest of the year well. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.
On the Star Wars games future he revealed:
“We see it as a great start–building a strong base of people that want to play in the Star Wars universe, and then leveraging it over time with action-oriented games, future Battlefront first-person shooter style games, new mobile games.”
So it appears that EA and Disney have plenty of plans for Star Wars games, are you looking forward to what they reveal? Let us know in the comments section below.
