For a long time, Nintendo has been working on Zelda Wii U but every time we get close to release, the game gets pushed back. It is like a mirage we’ve been chasing for a while now.
Many bought a Wii U just to play the next Zelda game but it looks like the game may never make it. According to some verified internal Nintendo sources, Nintendo NX is getting a Zelda game this year. It is most probably the same Zelda that was supposed to release on Wii U.
It is unclear if Wii U would still get Zelda or not but if it doesn’t, fans would require a serious explanation from Nintendo. The leak claims that Nintendo NX Zelda release is planned for sometime this Fall. This is in-line with previous rumors saying the NX release is set for Fall 2016.
It is possible that Zelda NX is going to be a launch title for Nintendo’s next console. It won’t be wise of Nintendo to cancel the Wii U version, so we may see Zelda NX release on both systems
It is OK to be skeptical about this information but what lends credibility to it is the fact that the same leak mentioned new Pokemon. It later turned out to be true and Nintendo announced Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon.
Nintendo’s Fall plans are as follows:
- 3DS Hardware Price Cut
- Code name: “N-Stars” big budget game for all ages
- Nintendo Selects Wave 2
- Code name: “DMW2” possibly Disney Magical World 2
- Dragon Quest VIII
- Pokémon 20th Anniversary game “Niji” (remember code names mean nothing, forget about the Rainbow, your gold is not there)
Nintendo is likely to announce its plans for NX and Zelda at E3 this June so keep an eye out for that. Do you think Zelda should be ported to NX and cancelled on Wii U or should the game come to both platforms?
