The release of The Division is only days away, and in a new trailer we are introduced to the The Division: New York Collapse. A tie-in novel, it works as a survival guide to the game and how the new world works.
Ubisoft have revealed the trailer but while others have focused on the gameplay, this looks to the story behind the apocalyptic events:
“When The Division arrives on PS4, Xbox One and PC on March 8, it’ll be accompanied by the release of The Division: New York Collapse. Created by author Alex Irvine, New York Collapse is much more than a tie-in novel, and combines an urban survivalist’s field guide with handwritten notes, doodles and removable artifacts discovered by one April Kelleher. A survivor of the pandemic, April dissects the guide’s strangely prescient text, uncovering cryptic clues that point to what’sreally going on in The Division’s story.”
This feels like an interesting approach for an online multiplayer game, and may reveal some interesting details about New York City, and some hidden secrets waiting to be found by the players who will venture out into the Dark Zone.
With the trailers looking at the PC release, and game features, it is nice to have a trailer that takes things back to the story and the events that are taking place in New York. Be sure to take a look at the Ubisoft Blog to see more details about the book, and also how it can be purchased.
