As seems usual every few weeks, the Xbox Live service is down. Microsoft are aware of the problem and are working on fixing it.
Xbox have announced that they are aware of the problem and have let users known via Twitter:

Logging into the Xbox Live status page will reveal the following message:
“Are you experiencing issues signing in to Xbox Live? Our team is aware of the issue and we’re working hard to find a fix as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience in the meantime and will provide an update as soon as we have more information.”
The problem seems to be affecting singing in, creating, mamanging, and recovering accounts as well as search. This is affecting Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Xbox on Windows 10.
Hopefully the problem won’t last for long and Microsoft will be able to get the service back up and working soon. In fact it could be up by the time that this report is posted on the site. Worst case scenario though will be the service going down for hours and getting in the way of people trying to enjoy the games.
With mainly being a paid service, gamers will of course expect it to be up as soon as possible. As we’ve seen with the Xbox Live service as well as PlayStation Network, these can be constant problems for users. Thankfully not all games are dependent on us being online all the time.
