Activision has confirmed a new Call of Duty game for 2016 and it is being developed by Infinity Ward as we speak. We didn’t see this coming, did we? Really? We did? Oh!
Infinity Ward was behind Ghosts which released back in 2013, followed by Sledgehammer’s Advanced Warfare in 2014, and Treyarch’s Black 3 in 2015. This year is Infinity’s turn yet again and many are speculating that Ghosts 2 is going to revealed soon.
Ghosts wasn’t the best Call of Duty game and was criticised for many reason. But if criticism ever stopped Activation from releasing COD games, the series would have ended a long time ago. It is very much possible that Infinity Ward is working on a different Call of Duty not Ghosts 2, so we’ll have to wait for a reveal.
There is nothing known about the new Call of Duty game but if we are to assume, it may feature dramatic action packed scenes, mediocre AI, linear maps, short campaign, lots of post-release skin packs, weapons packs, and a very expensive Season Pass.
I think it is safe to say that this year’s Call of Duty is going to be “built from the ground up,” and “innovative” as well, following in the footsteps of its predecessors.
The game is expected to release in the fourth quarter of 2016 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Black Ops 3 pretty much ditched last-gen consoles which was a great move as hardware is outdated, it holds back development. However, last-gen did get multiplayer for Black Ops 3 but I don’t think same will be the case this time around.
