Red Dead Redemption was recently added to Xbox One backwards compatibility. It was a surprise because previously Microsoft said that licensing issues are a hurdle while bringing Rockstar games to Xbox One backwards compatibility.
However, it is safe to say that those issues aren’t an issue anymore. Fans were ecstatic to see Red Dead Redemption on Xbox One but their excitement didn’t last too long. The game is now pulled from the store and is no longer available to download.
The good news is that Red Dead will come to Xbox One, the bad news is that it isn’t its time to arrive just yet. Its availability was an error that has now been fixed.
According to Major Nelson, the game is being tested by engineers and will release once they are satisfied with its emulation.
Microsoft tests all Xbox 360 games with our emulator to ensure a quality experience across a breadth of titles. Due to an error, some of the games currently in test were accidentally made available. We have since removed access to those games, and apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We will have more information on upcoming releases soon.
It looks like we to have wait a little bit longer to play Red Dead Redemption on Xbox One. We will let you know as soon as it becomes available.
