Day Z has been having its security issues as of late, especially with last week’s apparent source code theft. Today it appears the game may be having some issues again.
Kotaku are reporting that the Day Z message boards have recently been compromised and are recommending people change their passwords. Giving little information other than that, we can only assume that this is a further attack on the forums, or of course that Konami are warning about the attack which took place a week ago.
Looking at the Day Z forums themselves they are down at the time of writing with the official Day Z Developer Twitter revealing that maintenance was to take place today:
Hey all. Our website, forums, and Feedback Tracker will be down for the time being while we work on security updates.

Heads up gang, servers will be offline for an hour due to security updates (1400-1500 CET).

As the time frame provided by the Tweet has past, it does appear that the site is having issues. This may be the problems that Kotaku have reported. Even if this is not the case, it may be a good idea to change your passwords once you are able to. This is obviously a good thing to do regularly anyway.
If this is yet another attack on the Day Z site by hackers, it won’t give gamers much confidence about the security of the servers. Especially when this happened last week, and apparently is happening again.
