Microsoft Executives Discuss Sea of Thieves and Offer Some Early Advice
Sea of Thieves is an Xbox One exclusive, which will of course also be coming to the PC this year. Speaking about the game, Microsoft executive Aaron Greenberg wants us to know how fun it is.
Speaking to IGN Greenberg has been revealing some details about the prototype version of the game. He seems to be impressed with the size of scale and visuals that are at work in the game.
Commenting on the MMO aspect of the game he revealed an experience that he, Phil Spencer and Microsoft CVP Kudo Tsunoda had in the game:
“So we were playing with Kudo and Phil, and Kudo just jumps in the water and jumps onto another ship,” he said. “He goes AWOL and then you don’t see him for a while and then he comes back around and starts blasting cannons at their ship.”
Microsoft Studios Europe manage Hanno Lemke also gave his views, but had a more serious view on playing the game, with an aim of being a success as a pirate:
“So I get on the ship and I run around and start hitting him with a fish and he’s like ‘What are you doing? There’s water down below. We’ve got to raise the anchor…’ So he starts putting me to work,” he said of his experience with Lemke, adding: “It’s just fun. So much fun.”
We don’t have a specific release date for the game, though it is scheduled this year. We’ll have to keep an eye on the game, and wait patiently for a release date to be revealed.
