Livelock is Perfect World Entertainment’s New Top Down Shooter
If you are a fan of top-down shooter, Perfect World Entertainment’s Livelock might be just what you’re looking for. Previously, Perfect World focused on MMORPGs so Livelock has come as a breath of fresh air.
Livelock is being developed by Tuque Games and will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC sometime this year. Devs are expected to announce a release date in the coming months.
Since Perfect World Entertainment is known for its MMORPGs such as NeverWinter, Ether Saga Online, Jade Dynasty etc, you may think that Livelock is an MMORPG shooter like The Division. However, that isn’t the case.
The game is actually a co-op (three player) shooter that will take players to the 22th century. A century known as “the age of machines.”
Livelock transports players into the 22nd century, the age of the machine. Nearly a century after the cataclysm, humanity is on the brink of survival. Clusters – groups of corrupted machines control what remains of the earth, fighting each other in an infinite war over resources that now threatens the very planet itself.
Players take control of a Capital Intellect, a human consciousness uploaded to large mechanical body. Armed with a unique arsenal of weapons and special abilities, the Capital Intellect must fight the corrupted machine Clusters and break the cycle of an infinite war, before humanity is forgotten in the annals of history.
Livelock will be pay-to-play on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Devs also introduced their first playable character, Hex. Hex can be considered as the aggressor of the team (a warrior) who uses brute force and aggression to cause significant damage.
You can take a look at Hex in the announcement trailer above. Devs are planning to reveal two other playable characters, enemies, and gameplay details in the near future.
