We Haven’t Started Optimizing ARK Survival Evolved So Don’t Worry About it For Now, Says Dev

ARK Survival Evolved

ARK Survival Evolved is still very much in its pre-alpha stage, but many users have been complaining about the game’s poor optimization.

The action-adventure survival video-game suffers from a lot of frame-rate drops and other technical problems, particularly on the PC and Xbox One platforms. Because of this, several players have altogether given up on the game, and many others are questioning whether these problems will be addressed in the final release of the time.

Co-founder of Studio Wildcard (the team behind ARK) and co-creative director of the game Jesse tells us not to worry about the matter.

The director went on Twitter to tell users not to worry about the optimization of the game, stating they having even started it yet.

The game is currently in pre-alpha stage, and optimization often starts towards the end-stages of a beta release (and in rare occasions, even after the beta).

In addition to this, the developer also confirmed the use of DirectX12. ARK Survival Evolved will be getting DX12 support once the API is ready inside Unreal Engine 4 and across all hardware targets. DX12 is expected to improve overall performance of the game.
