Star Fox Zero review

Star Fox Zero brings one of the iconic franchises back to life and looking at Platinum Games’ record, they are probably the most well-suited studio for the job. The game which was previously rumored to release on February 26 is going to play around with Nintendo’s exclusive features like GamePad.

Yusuke Hashimoto, the game director for Star Fox Zero, recently discussed how they are dealing with the different technology of the Wii U, especially the GamePad, and while discussing all that he revealed that they are planning to do something special and fun with it.

They have been developing games for the action genre long enough to establish that they know what they are doing. Hashimoto reiterated that and added that although they “understand how the players play an action game, how they respond to an action game, how they’ll move, what they’ll do in the situational stuff,” the thing they are working on now is “totally a new learning experience for us, which is kind of fun to find out.”

He said that they want the GamePad to be integrated into the gameplay experience such that it makes thing more fun and interesting rather than just be a cosmetic feature:

Thinking about how we can make it fun, how we can make it interesting, that’s something that neither side really has [done]. It’s just new for both of us. That’s where you get stimulated: what ideas, what can we do there? It’s always fun to think about.

Anyhow, there is more to be fascinated about in relation to Star Fox Zero and their teaser site is one of those things – you should check it out and see if there is anything else you find interesting.

The game is officially dated to hit Wii U on April 22.

Thanks, GameSpot.
