Doom Release Date Could Be Set for June 30, Here’s How We Know
Revealed at E3 by Bethesda, the new Doom is coming to consoles and PC. However, when exactly will we get to play the game is so far unknown.
Bethesda is yet to share a release date with us but it looks like some trigger happy employee pressed the publish button a little early and potentially gave away the final release date for Doom. If Amazon’s listing holds any truth to it, then be ready to play the game on June 30, 2016.
It is very much possible that this is just a placeholder release date but Amazon is known for leaking such information. Although such leaks from Amazon don’t often turn out to be accurate, but since we are talking about Doom here, we can’t help getting excited over this.
Escalation Studios is also working on Doom in partnership with id Software. Escalation is working on the SnapMap feature of the game, meanwhile, the rest of the development is being handled by id.
To understand the SnapMap feature better, check out the video below from Bethesda’s E3 press-conference.
Doom has been under development for a while and what you now see is the result of plenty of trial and error. The latest title could have been very different if you look at a leaked video of Doom 4. Unfortunately, Bethesda knew the project isn’t moving in the right direction so they scrapped it and went back to the drawing board.
