Hideo Kojima to Become a Part of DICE Awards Hall of Fame
Legendary game creator Hideo Kojima has influenced the videogaming industry in many ways, and for his contributions in his long and illustrious career, he will be the 21st member of the DICE Awards Hall of Fame.
The announcement was made by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, and will be handed over to Hideo Kojima during the DICE Summit.
The award will be presented by movie director Guillermo del Toro. Guillermo del Toro was involved with Hideo Kojima in the creating of the cancelled Silent Hills and its spooky P.T. demo that was released in 2014.
The award would be a welcoming commendation for Hideo Kojima after what has been a tough year for the creator of the Metal Gear series. After the hastened release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in September, Kojima announced his departure from Konami after a rift with the Japanese publishing company.
Not too long ago though, Sony announced partnership with the game designer’s studio, Kojima Productions, and are expected to release a brand new IP with them for the PS4.
Hideo Kojima is expected to attend the DICE summit to receive the award. The summit takes place on February 16, 17, and 18.
