Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Composer Brad Fuller Passes Away

The legendary composer behind Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Superman III has passed, leaving behind a wife and two kids.

Renowned Sound Composer, Brad Fuller, has passed away. The man was behind some amazing and classic music from Atari and NES days. He composed music for games like Tetris, Tetris: Tengen, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Super Pac Man and more.

It is a sad day for seasoned gamers who loved Brad Fuller’s compositions that added so much to those late night Tetris sessions with friends and family. Fuller joined Atari in 1982 and was suffering from pancreatic cancer which resulted in his passing.

Fuller fought a long hard battle with cancer but in the end passed away peacefully. Fuller continuously kept in touch with his fans via a blog he wrote to share his feelings and experiences.

One of the final posts from Fuller outlined his two step plan for dealing with health issues.

Yesterday I outlined two plans to help reduce the blockage in the liver. Today was Plan A. It didn’t work. So, we will begin Plan B tomorrow. Hopefully we will not have the same result or even the same wait time (we were to have the procedure at 11:30, but it wasn’t until 3:30 waiting in the staging room that we had the procedure.

Thank you for your prayers that Plan B will work.

Plan B worked but it was still too late for the legendary composer. Fuller left a spouse and two kids behind, his wife Rebecca announced his passing on the blog:

Dear family, friends and followers,

Many of you have been following along with this blog from the beginning. Thank you for all your prayers and support.

He fought hard to beat the cancer but in the end he went peacefully.

Love,
Rebecca, Jeff and Kevin

We are sorry for their lose and hope that Fuller rests in peace.
