XCOM 2 PC System Requirements Revealed; Requires 45 GB Space

Firaxis Games has revealed the PC system requirements for its strategy title XCOM 2. The sequel to the 2012 reboot XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be released in February next year exclusively for PC, and the requirements seem to fall within tolerable ranges of modern day rigs.

The hardware requirements are fairly lightweight, despite the hefty storage requirement. According to the game’s Steam page, the game will require a whopping 45 GB of space to install. The rest of the requirements though are pretty light by comparison.

OS: Windows® 7, 64-bit

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 2.6 GHz or AMD Phenom 9950 Quad Core 2.6 GHz

Memory: 4 GB RAM

Graphics: 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5770, 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or better

DirectX: Version 11

Storage: 45 GB available space

Sound Card: DirectX compatible sound card

OS: Windows® 7, 64-bit

Processor: 3GHz Quad Core

Memory: 8 GB RAM

Graphics: 2GB ATI Radeon HD 7970, 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 or better

Storage: 45 GB available space

Sound Card: DirectX compatible sound card

These requirements do fall within the realm of what the PS4 and Xbox One hardware are capable of, but Firaxis Games had confirmed earlier this year that XCOM 2 would be a PC exclusive game. This came as a surprise to many, since XCOM: Enemy Unknown was released on Xbox 360 & PS3 alongside PC.

The reason for this exclusivity is because of Firaxis Games being a relatively small developer, and wanting to focus on the platform they were most familiar and comfortable with.

XCOM 2 will release on February 5, 2016 on Steam.
